Scientists from the United States have determined that the life span of courageous men is lower than that of the rest. The reasons for this were very simple.
Researchers from Rutgers University have established the reasons why courageous men live less than others. To do this, they invited 250 male volunteers who were asked questions about masculinity. Also, the doctors determined how often and for what reasons one or the other respondent seeks a doctor.
Scientists have found that those participants who consider themselves independent and courageous, are much less likely to turn to medical institutions and by any means avoid visits to a female doctor. It also turned out that they are trying to hide the truth about their health, not mentioning a bad feeling in a conversation with a doctor.
Researchers believe that the main reason for the short life of courageous men is a rare appeal to doctors, the cause of which is the fear of appearing weak in the eyes of another person, even if the interlocutor is a medical worker.
An unusual study was reported by the publication Preventive Medicine.
