In the process of losing weight, two components are involved - a direct change in metabolism associated with a decrease in carbohydrate and fat intake, and a psychological attitude that allows you to adhere to a healthy diet for a long time. Nutritionists and psychologists say that both factors are very important, however, not everyone can provide the right motivation.
Researchers from the University of Alicante (Spain) say that they managed to discover a new way to make it easier for those who are trying to lose weight, this is a photo diary. This discovery was made during an experiment in which scientists determined the factors that motivate people to achieve their goals and not to quit the process of losing weight halfway through.
In the clinic Barranquilla (Colombia), scientists conducted an experiment that lasted 4 months. It was attended by 271 volunteers, of whom 233 were women. The age of participants was from 16 to 72 years. All of them were healthy and did not suffer from chronic diseases.
The program, designed to get rid of extra pounds, managed to finish almost 90% of the participants, according to which waist circumference was the most important motivating factor.
Scientists noted that those participants who photographed weekly changes in waist volume were able to lose weight most effectively.
This result demonstrated that motivation in the form of a visually confirmed result stimulates further hard work in the form of abandoning sweets and other eating habits that led to weight gain.
